“Isn’t there another way???” … is the question I heard myself screaming from the inside. For what seemed like an eternity, I had been battling my weight and my body image.
It started in my college years, when I began to put on a few pounds. I went from a place of not being that concerned with what I ate on any given day (bring on the extra hot fudge!)…. to full on analysis and judgment of every single morsel that entered my mouth.
To get my body the way I wanted, I tried it all – with the underlying notion, “If I can just muster enough self-control, I can be thin and happy and carefree!”
And this very sentiment rings true for so many women – how many times in the lunch line do we comment on each other’s food choices, share our previous nights indulgences, talk about what we wish we were doing better.
But the truth is, even when I was mustering the self-control, I was still obsessing over this constant struggle to make the “right choices.” There was no freedom.
“There must be a better way!” … I clearly remember the moment when I said enough is enough. And so it began, my own journey inward to resolve this struggle and develop a new relationship with my body and with food.
Through an unraveling of causes and effects, I discovered the ‘me’ that is inherently healthy and desires to be kind to myself. By walking through a different doorway, I lost the weight I always wanted to, but this time it felt natural and effortless.
My goal and desire is to support you in your own journey to health – to unlock your own inner wellness. To enable you to experience a new sentiment, “It feels good to be kind to me!”
My own experience and my desire to help others led me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
